KAKAVA FESTIVALS AND EDIRNE TOUR (04-07.05.2026)

We are on our way to experience the enthusiasm of KAKAVA FESTIVALS, a tradition that embraces spring. In these festivities, which we can summarise as the equivalent of Hıdırellez celebrations in Roma Culture, you can witness many special moments such as jumping over a giant fire, colourful dance performances, and the entry of Roma Girls into the river within the scope of the Rite of Entry into Spring. Do not miss the opportunity to get to know the fun Roma culture, which considers the creaking of the door as a reason to play.
TOUR PROGRAM

DAY 1: EVENING DEPARTURE
We meet you, our esteemed guests, at 19:00 on 04 May 2024-Saturday evening at Eşref Girginç Park (opposite LC Waikiki) and set off towards Edirne. 

DAY 2: FREE BREAKFAST-EDİRNE EXCURSIONS-SARAYİÇI-KAKAVA FESTIVITIES-EDİRNE ACCOMMODATION
After the stops we will make on the way, we arrive in the morning hours to EDIRNE, which was the capital of the Ottoman Empire for many years and one of the seven largest cities in Europe in the 18th century. After a free breakfast break to relieve our road fatigue, we start our day with our visits to Edirne, where we will have very special memories. In Edirne, which has a very rich cultural heritage, after seeing the Burmese (3 honoured) Mosque and Macedonia (clock) Tower, we visit the magnificent Selimiye Mosque, which Mimar Sinan built at the age of 80 and called 'My Masterpiece'. Afterwards, we see the Rüstem Pasha Caravanserai, another magnificent building of the period of Suleiman the Magnificent and also built by Mimar Sinan. Afterwards, we give you free time in Arasta Bazaar, which we can also call the historical bazaar of the region and one of the places where the heart beats. In this bazaar, you can find Edirne-specific products and flavours such as Edirne cheese, Kavala cookies, marzipan, mis soap, mirror broom. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to taste Edirne's famous liver to experience local flavours. After our taste break, we continue our visits with the 2nd Bayezid Complex - Health Museum. The complex has become one of the most interesting museums of our country in recent years. This museum, which has made its name known at home and abroad with the international awards it has received, is the only museum that truly keeps an Ottoman hospice alive today. After completing this tour with a guide and obtaining valuable information, we turn our route to Sarayiçi. Old Palace Square, Balkan Martyrdom, Fatih Bridge on the Tunca River, Justice Pavilion and Kırkpınar Wrestling Field will be the places we will see here. After completing our most important visits about Edirne in this way, we go to the festival area in order to watch, live and be a part of the Kakava Festivities, which is our purpose of coming to the trip in the afternoon. In the traditional programme, every year after the opening speeches, the giant Kakava Fire is lit to bring prosperity, health, fortune, joy, luck, peace, peace and tolerance. We watch the activities here and let ourselves go with the flow of the programme with the energy of celebrating the arrival of spring in the most entertaining way. DAY 3: KAKAVA FESTIVITIES- RITUAL OF ENTERING SPRING- SARAÇLAR STREET- JOURNEY TO ÇANAKKALE- FREE TIME- ACCOMMODATION IN ÇANAKKALE
Within the scope of the Kakava Festivities, every year on 06 May, the ritual of 'ENTRANCE TO SPRING', which aims to purify and greet the awakening of nature, takes place at 06:00 in the morning on the banks of the Tunca River. These events attract great interest and local and foreign photographers and press members also participate. We meet early in the morning with our guests who want to witness colourful scenes such as music, dance performances and the entry of Roma girls from Edirne into the Tunca River and take our places by the Tunca River. After watching the activities within the scope of the ritual, we return to our hotel for breakfast. Afterwards, we check out of our hotel and go to Saraçlar Street to participate in the activities within the scope of the festivities. We give you free time to participate in activities such as concerts, competitions, dance shows as you wish. After experiencing the festivities to the fullest and enjoying the enthusiasm of spring, we meet again in our vehicle and set off towards Çanakkale. We reach Çanakkale in the afternoon. After checking in at our hotel, after a short walk on the promenade with our guests who want to participate, we reach the Trojan Horse, which was left from the film Troy, starring Brad Pitt, and was gifted to Çanakkale after the filming, and take pleasant photos. Afterwards, we give you free time. In this free time period, you can walk around the promenade and the centre and have your dinner. (ÇANAKKALE ACCOMMODATION)-Kule Hotel

DAY 4: ÇANAKKALE NAVAL MUSEUM-AYNALI BAZAAR-RETURN TO MARMARIS
After breakfast, we leave our hotel to make the last visits of this special trip. Firstly, we visit Çanakkale Naval Museum, one of the must-see museums of Çanakkale. In the museum, we also see the Nusret Mine Ship from the Ottoman period and listen to its story. After your museum visit, we visit the Aynalı Bazaar, the historical bazaar of our distinguished city, accompanied by the folk song 'Aynalı Bazaar in Çanakkale'. After the free time we will give you to shop and get to know the bazaar, we meet in our vehicle and we are on our way back to Marmaris with good memories. After the breaks we will give on the way, we return to Marmaris, leave you at the points we pick you up and say goodbye to see you on other tours.
